Dorchester Abbey
Oxford is 10 miles away with it's famous dreaming spires. You can join in walking tours, see Oxford by double decker bus, go punting on the river Cherwell, visit many of the colleges, or perhaps visit the famous Randolph Hotel where scenes for Inspector Morse were filmed.
Henley is 11 miles away with it's famous Royal Regatta held at the end of June/beginning of July. There are many places to eat and beautiful walks along the river bank.
Abingdon and Wallingford, both 5-6 miles away, are pretty market towns with the River Thames running through them.
London is approximately 1 hour away by car.

Dorchester Abbey
The current Abbey was built in the 12th century, replacing two earlier Saxon cathedrals. It is the spiritual centre of the village and a very popular tourist destination. It's a wonderful venue for concerts and other events, and a great place for a visit.
Wittenham Clumps
Wittenham Clumps
The hills are a very popular walkers paradise, rising to a height of 400ft they provide one of the best views in the region. Since 1982 the site has been owned and managed by the Northmoor Trust as a nature reserve.
Days Lock (Pooh-Sticks)
The World Pooh-Sticks Championship is held every year at Days Lock in Little Wittenham. The game originates from A A Milne's book "The House at Pooh Corner" where Pooh Bear and his friends stood on a bridge and raced twigs along the stream below.
